from the Hotel in direction to the centre of Funchal, where
a visit to the farmers market will be mad. Guests will have
the opportunity to see the flowers section, vegetables and
fish section. The next visit will be at the embroidery
factory to see all the processes through which our famous
hand made embroidery passes, before it is sold at the shop.
The tour will continue to the Botanical Garden to appreciate
the various plants and trees. To finalize, a visit to a
local wine cellar with wine tasting.

Eira do Serrado and Monte

Leaving
Funchal towards Pico dos Barcelos (355m) from where can
admire a general view over Funchal and its suburbs.
Afterwards you will continue by the road of Curral until
Eira do Serrado (1094m) where the panorama over the village
is going to enchant you. Retaking the trip on the way to
Monte (550m) where after visiting the church of Our Lady of
Monte (the patron of the island) you will be able to choose
by descending on the typical wicker baskets (sledges), a
local old mean of transport until Livramento. Returning to
Funchal, visit to one of the famous Madeira embroidery
houses.

Leaving
the hotel, we will go towards Camara de Lobos, a typical
fishing village, and then to Cabo Girão, the second highest
cliff in the world 580m above sea level. We will then go on
to Ribeira Brava, and passing by the beautiful valley of
Serra D`Agua reach Encumeada, a summit where both parts of
the island ( north and south ) can be seen at the same time
(weather permitting). Continuing the way passing by São
Vicente, we will discover one of the most beautiful points
of the north coast, a road built on the rocks near the sea
where we can admire the astonishing waterfalls, we will
reach Porto Moniz, where we will have lunch. This village on
the northwest coast is known for its volcanic swimming
pools. After lunch, . Return to Funchal by Paul da Serra,
the only plateau on the island at 1400m, Ponta do Sol and
back to Funchal.

Santana
Departure from Funchal on to Camacha to appreciate the
famous wickerwork and the village where football was played
for the first time in Portugal (1875). Afterwards we will
continue to Pico do Arieiro, one of the highest points of
the island (1810 m) and then to Ribeiro Frio to visit a
trout hatchery and the Natural Park, where we find many of
our indigenous plants, continuing to Faial and Santana,
well known for its typical thatched roof houses (lunch at a
local restaurant – 3 course menu). After lunch return to
Funchal by Porto da Cruz, stop at the viewpoint Portela with
fine views over the rock of Penha d’Águia, then on to Pico
do Facho with views over the city of Machico and then back
to Funchal.

Rabaçal / Risco / 25
Fontes – Full day
The valley of
Rabaçal is one of natures greatest exhultations. Descending
from the plateau of Paul da Serra, we arrive at the Rabaçal
guesthouse from where we walk to the Risco waterfall. We
then descend to the Levada of 25 Fontes and walk along the
maintenance path. After a while we reach a small lake at
the bottom of a cliff which towers above us, from the cliff
face. 25 natural springs cascade into the small lake.
Walking back to our vehicles we through a tunnel which takes
the water to the south of the island.
